Dead to yourself
and your brilliant words
what kind of world
do you inhabit?

arrogantly craven?
maliciously darkened?

or merely a mind
with a writer’s curse

merely a mind
with a person’s hurt

so alone
you taste
and reach
without textured life
without a mirror
to reflect another soul
close enough to touch

healing is a mad dream
too far
for a maddened Dreamer

yet felicity calls
and peace could sing
her requiem

if you but let it go...

let it all just flee

ah, you say,
if only it were that easy

if only it held the ease of breathing words...

(For you, dark one. Your friend K)

I truly wish it were that easy for me my friend, but 'tis not. Letting go of some things is very easy, other things cannot be released. Learning the difference and the things in between is the fun part.

"Peace" is such an odd word, odder still when it is applied to a headstone, yet "peace" is all I seek.

I think that my healing would stymie Mercury and his Caduceus were they to make the attempt.

Thank you much for thinking enough of me to write verse for me dear friend.

Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~.
