Painting Life With My Words
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

The day stands like the empty palette,
just waiting for my stroke.
Today I felt so richly blessed,
but for thoughts, I was surely broke.

Not to worry,
for it will pass.
Soon the words I paint
will last.

Each day is started.
Each day is done.
Whether we finish what we start,
or have just begun.

Painting life with my words
is all that I know.
When I'm done,
I trust you'll think so.

Not a Picasso,
not even close.
I wrote what I thought,
that's what matters most.

I create little poems,
and all the while,
I know when I give them
they bring a smile.

I'm not one to blow my own horn,
so I'll close with just this thought.
If I didn't give these poems away,
do you think they would be bought ?

That is the question we all ask:  will it be bought?  I like the imagery you used.

Eloise - Thank you.  Goodness knows I try.

Denise - Awwwww! Are these the words of a friend or what?

Pepper - What a very nice thing to say.

Tara Simms - Glad you liked it. Heck, if it was about money ... I'd have given it up for broke a long time ago.

Severn - Thanks my friend so very much.

Toe, love -
You put an early morning smile on this lady's face.
You underestimate your talents, my friend, Wharhol couldn't hold a Campbell's Soup can to your words.

Gorgeous.
"Painting life with words"-what a delicious way of describing it!
Your readers obviously get a lot out of your poetry, Marge.

Hoot - YOU, my dear friend ...
are a work of art yourself !

PaperGuardian - Thank you so much for the lovely thoughts.  So glad to have you here among friends.

Seymour -
Seymour and a smile ...
what a lovely combination I envision.
Thank you my friend.
I hope it is always thus.

SeaAngel - I'm glad you enjoyed it.
If they get a lot out of it ...
it's because they fill my palette with
the many colors of their friendship
