The time we had together slipped away so fast.
Somehow I knew, it would never last.
But how can I explain this feeling that I get.
I don't think my heart has gotten over you yet.

When I hear your name, I pretend I don't care.
But deep down inside, it's more than I can bear.
When you wish upon a star, do you wish for me?
Will we go back, or was it just not meant to be?

I dream of you, but you're not there.
There's broken pieces everywhere.
You're in my thoughts both day and night.
Unable to touch you, but you're still within sight.

As I gaze into the dark night sky,
A thousand times over I ask myself why.
With a little work, I'll be a diamond someday.
Then you will wish today was still yesterday.

this is sad, and i can relate...but the pain does fade...i don't know yet if it ever truly goes away, but one thing i do know is that life goes on! great poem.
