Another kind intention
of your own invention?
Was she your good deed for the day?
Is it your conscience you assuage?
Everything's all right in your world
Querida's still your girl
Her tone was sweet and mild
Sin the anger and the wild
that used to mar her lips
those you shushed with fingertips
and silence…deadly silence smoked
with the love that you revoked
You clear the air with incense
Make a well-timed little pretense
and you can sleep tonight
while in the smothered light
Querida's still awake
and its a voodoo doll she makes
Baby, all the pins stick in
where your heart should have been
In a nightmare you perspire
She's thrown the doll into the fire
The Wanted One lives again
throws your memory to the wind...
