Oh Backhoe Guy

I wrote this one because a friend of mine is building a zen cabin in Hawaii and she e-mailed me all excited because the backhoe had finally arrived to dig for the septic tank. She called him the backhoe guy. I hope this is poetry.

Oh Backhoe Guy

Backhoe guy oh backhoe guy
dig me a big deephole under this blue Hawaiian sky.
Backhoe guy dip your bucket with pride
as you dig it deep and dig it wide.
Backhoe guy guide those jointed arms across the molten soil below
and excavate those big volcanic rocks cause they have to go.
Backhoe guy it's exciting to know
the septic tank will soon be 10 feet below.

I liked this little ditty! How exciting to be building a new home, and in HAWAII too !! Wow....very cool! I'm jealous - I bet she's so excited! You should show her this little poem you wrote!
