Sometimes I wish
I didn't know you so well.
You think that I'm down,
you think you can tell.
You're convinced that I'm lonely,
You just know that I'm sad.
You want me to cry
over what we once had.
Do you honestly think
that I should miss you?
What do you want me to say?
What do you want me to do?
Say that my life has no meaning?
I'm giving up the fight?
I can't stand another day?
I can't take another night;
of living without you
because now you're gone.
How did I lose you?
Where did I go wrong?
What was my crime?
Can't I plead my case?
Just look into my heart,
look into my face.
Can't you tell that I love you?
Don't you know that I care?
I'd do anything,
I'd go anywhere.
You're all that matters
and once you loved me.
Now you push me away,
and expect me to see...
the reasons you're hiding,
the excuses you've made;
after giving you my heart
at your feet it was laid.
You kicked it around,
and you told it lies.
Now it's hovered in the corner
and you're hoping it dies.
Was she worth it all?
Did she love you more?
Did you think of me each time
you walked out the door?
Did you call out my name
when you held her tight?
Spending your days with me,
and with her all your nights.
Is this what you want?
Have I said it all?
Or is there still more?
You make the call.
Want to know if you hurt me?
The answer is yes.
You tore out my heart
from deep in my chest.
Did I cry forever
after is was all done?
Yes, I cried for weeks
while you had your fun.
So I guess you do know me
more than I wish you had.
And I'm feeling lonely,
miserable and sad.
You set out to hurt me,
and you did in the end.
But it would have hurt less
if she hadn't been my best friend.

OUCH! Best friend? I can't think of much else that hurts more than that. But I must say this was a wonderful poem, very, well written.
