How did the pond get inside of the building? I really would like to know It's funny enough that it's the end of December But there doesn't seem to be any snow. More birds are flying over my head Than I've ever seen before in my life They don't seem to realize the world is out there While they are stuck inside. People got mad when our convoy went through Although it was for them We just laughed and said 'you'll see, The further we get ahead'. I thought the many phone books might be The link to my hidden past And maybe answer so many questions I had never had the nerve to ask. Then when I thought I had found it I purposely left it behind I guess I like the mystery Of the father I may never find. Although the water was cold we braved it still And our hearts, they became ice We never would be quite the same again After we left paradise. We only wanted to enjoy our time We never meant any harm But somehow everything got twisted And they ruthlessly stole our charm. It took awhile to heal the hurt I've always been taught to forgive And although I've been shot many sore times I always remember to live. |
