The road slices through Regal redwoods Speckles of sunlight skim Canopies of branches Flickering dark to light Redolence of pine Tingling noses Through fertile valleys Cabernet grapes suspended Migrant workers cutting Bunches with sharp knives September sun drubbing Bandanas wipe sweaty brows Winery owners stay cool Inside climate controlled rooms The road turns, narrows Descending altitudes Culminating in intersection Pacific Coast Highway Cloudless azure sky Ocean reflects like a fire opal Boulders bulge Birds claiming domain Whitening rocks It cuts between Old clapboard houses People preserving Historic logging town Now “Bed and Breakfasts” Or “Galleries” displaying Wood carvings of lighthouses Ships, or Gulls Old-time bars bustling Artists drawn in, mesmerized Stand at cliff’s edge, sunset Big orange orb plunging Outside of town The road leads to Milkyways On show For eyes old and new © 1999 Corinne Bailey |

I can't think of the words I wanna say here, sorry. I'm tired and I think my brain quite working! hehe You've painted a vivid picture that I enjoyed much! ------------------ <*\\\>< |
