To One He Didn't Know He wrote a page of poetry To one he didn't even know He sailed it down a mountain stream Etched among the drifted snow He wrote to one he thought he knew But never saw and never heard Poetic verse so heavenly Laced with song and perfect word Beauteous the thought and finely scrolled With words that flowed right from the heart He wrote to one he thought he knew Who walked in valleys far apart The poetry then travelled far And finally came to rest upon A weathered stone amid the stream The very stone she tread upon She found the leaf and read the verse Then sat beside a feathered fur And there she came to know the truth The words he wrote were meant for her Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 11-29-1999).] |

Elizabeth, Exquisite is hard to place in rhyme But I must try this single time. For you twiked my heart in every line And had me drunk with heady wine. I cannot tell you how I feel My head is still a turning wheel. To thank you would be a palette rare. For theres not enough color there. So suffice to say I was enthraled And am always at your becked call. |

Sy An empty palette I've yet to see According to your poetry You swing a brush that's surely full Of words that make my spirit drool You've said it all just as before Then why do I still beg for more Elizabeth |

Elizabeth, To you I am an open door, Eat your fill there's plenty more. I will sing and toast till ghost And perhaps beyond if let to post. Please keep the smile upon your face For most the rest is mostly waste. |

Sy, Rarely in my entire life Have I not smiled in times of strife The exception was these weeks just passed The troubles I knew would not last But even those with soul of steel Sometimes need friends to help them heal And that is why I begged to hear A friendly voice my soul to cheer But now it's done the smiles back I'm running laps around the track and more than that, You make me laugh At verses written on my behalf So thank you for the poetry Your talent still amazes me Elizabeth |

Elizabeth Yours is a voice that sings loud and clear It can make the sad smile and the deaf hear Surely much has been written about you And not just by those here. You put on your heart a smiling face, But does it mask a haunted place? One that needs to be sung to To fill that empty space? Your heart I can see in your words, A sweeter song I have never heard. But who hears your song my dove? The swan does, for he knows the birds. ------------------ That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Elizabeth, running laps around the track describes you perfectly, I think...and outlapping the field, may I add? Another wonderful work. |

Beautiful Elizabeth! Your words flow so easily, it seems as if an effortless breath has slipped them unsuspecting on the page in perfect harmony. |

Sven No mask is on my face or heart Nor does the coo the dove has sung No masqueraded songs impart Nor from the well of soul has sprung Thanks for the poem Elizabeth Balladeer No lap around an endless skyway Could match that scene on a Texas highway! Elizabeth Martie, Beautiful words thrown from the shelf More lovely than the poem itself Thank you so much Elizabeth |

Elizabeth - I am so reminded of the Talking Leaves of the Cherokee with this rendering of your words. I can just see the ~Maiden~ at the water's edge ... reaching out for the leaf ... written on it, the ~Warrior's~ words. Purely inspires me ... hmmmmmm? Thanks, love ... it's beautiful. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
