I’m really very, very tired
Not knowing where I stand.
I believe the constant bickering
Has gotten out of hand.
I think I’ll pack the things I have
And head on down the road.
The worries that I’ve had to bear
Became too great a load.
What do I want, what do I need?
What is it that I seek?
Perhaps some peace and quietitude
Beside some mountain creek.
Love? romance? relationships
I’ve had my fill of those
For heartache follows fondness
That’s just the way it goes.
I’d like to take a sailing ship
and take her round the Horn-
And search the ancient kingdoms
Long dead when Christ was born.
I’ll chart my course and cast my lines
And let my vessel drive
And give account to no one else
So long as I’m alive.
I want no friends, nor family
Much less a hearth or home...
He travels far, and faster..
The man who walks alone

Gunslinger'
This is one of the most beautiful poems I've ever read
It just flows like all of your poetry
Good work

Wisely spoken words. But sometimes the journey can be very lonely.

Sometimes the trip may be lonely.
But it's a trip he'll take,
until the fondness of folly
shall call his name again,
just for old times sake.

Slinger - you are awesome.

I agree with all the rest G.S. This is an outstanding piece, I think a lot of us would like to do something like this sometimes.

I echo all accolades, gs. The wording is suberb. One error, though. You can't have 'no' friends because you've already made one here, no matter where you go.
