The past hangs over me like the Sword of Damocles save that it is my sanity dangling by the thread fate casts about me a deepening pall insidious in its conquering of others History reaches to embrace the Now with former truths now falsehoods poisoning the Future's promise with cries of redemption's failure that take no heed of the Now's manifest truth Oblivion seems the sweetest release from voices echoing out of forgiven past, whispers trailing promises back from an unformed future either is less cause for hope than regret Seeds self-planted need nourishment no more for doubt's entangling vine chokes mystery from life leading me onward to the glorious state of being Superfluous in life, I fear ©1999 DreamEvil ------------------ Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~. Glorious state? Are you sure? Hey - I know life holds many more mysteries for you dear Dream. But yes, the past can be a heavy cloud. Oh, and I must reiterate: your freeverse is admirable. |

You do freeverse extremely well, my friend. May your clouds move swiftly. ------------------ It's not the love you fear, but the fall from the height~Edwin McCain |
