I am really sorry to hear this.  I have learned so much from you, but I can go through older lessons and apply what you have taught me as I make my attempts.

It's disappointing, but understanable as I know this is taking up a lot of your time.

Thank you so much for the time that you have taken to help me.

Alison, you have been a complete joy. If there is any way I can ever help you, let me know. Your love of writing and your enthusiasm are wonderful traits. I have little doubt you will succeed in your accomplishments

You can help me .. when I write a poem and you see that I am off course, just let me know please.  Email might be best as I have no in my profile to critique.  But, you my friend, can correct me any old day.

I'll miss this time lots, but .. will you still teach me?  I'll smoke you some salmon!

Well that's a shame there is a lack of interest, but perhaps in the fall?  Although I don't have time to write much anymore, I sure enjoy reading and learning from those that DO know what they are doing.  It was great to read poetry done by the "teacher," and also the "student."  Enjoyed your classes very much.  Hey Michael, smoked salmon - yummy.

Great! From a guy who spent most of his life swimming upstream and fighting currents, salmon hold a special place in my heart. Never smoked one (I prefer camels) but I'm willing to try!

I'll have my eye on ya, Alison

Mysteria, you may be right. We all have lives and those lives can get a little busy and complicated at times, so it may just be a matter of timing. We'll see.....

Interest isn't usually something that happens, Mike. Interest, rather, is something that is generated.

Remember back in 1998 and 1999, Mike? Neither netpoets.com nor piptalk.com started out with a whole lot of interest either.

Build it and they will come.

Don't get discouraged by a seeming lack of interest. Continue doing things that are fun for you and don't worry about how many others join the fray. That's what we did almost ten years ago, after all. And honestly? That's pretty much what I continue to do today.

True enough, Ron, and I'm supposed to be the interest generator! That's why I feel like I've fallen down on the job.

We'll keep trying, though, and see how it goes..

Silently whistles as I wait and wonders if I have to redo the Alphabet poem before getting another assignment.  Taps my fingers and waits and hopes that all is well with Balladeer.

Isn't vacation over?

And, Dr Moose, you have jobs to do so don't think you are skipping class.  Nope.  You gotta stick around - and do stuff (like clean erasers).

What do you think Marge will say when she peeks in here and you are playing hooky?

Alison (who is gonna tell on you)

It seems I should get back to work, erasers must be cleaned.
The new year beckons, promise bound, there're skills to be machined
and polished to a glistening shine lest they begin to rust.
Excuse me Mr. Balladeer, don't mind my cloud of dust.

Erasers I must clean you see, as Alison says so
or she is going to tell Miss Marge, and I can't have that, NO!
I'd druther raise a cloud so big as would obscure the sun,
and while I'm doing that Monsieur, at you poke some more fun.

It is my way, you see my friend, there're subjects to be learned,
Your expertise I'm here to test, but do not be concerned.
We all must have our cross to bear if even undeserved,
perhaps this year you have resolved to grade more on a curve?

And so, ACHOO!,  another year, one hopes to do it just,
and if erasers I must clean y'all can eat my dust!

I know the New Year's started
Cause I threw the tree away.
The weather isn't too bad,
not in Texas anyway.

I'm ready for a challenge
want to really work my brain.
Expand my minds horizons,
provoke thought and entertain.

I missed a lot of lessons,
some on meter some on style.
I wanna create something
that a reader deems worthwhile.

I'm ready now professor
sitting here with pen in hand.
Start off with something simple,
my minds ready to expand.

OK maybe not too simple.. hehe

Remember me with a smile on your face, or please don't remember me at all.

Sorry teacher, but I don't have note from my mum excusing my absence but I've just got a new laptop and I'm back from my summer vacation and ready to go.
