The Beach on a Summer’s Evening The waning sun consumes the sky in shades and shapes that please the eye, a pleasant place to find rapport and no desire to question why. The waves across the water pour out ripples on the sandy shore then disappear to ebb and flow afar and then return once more. Emotions wander to-and-fro as zephyrs in the treetops blow a haunting tune as to allege those truths forsaken long ago. But I have no more time to dredge these views and to myself I pledge to linger at the water’s edge, to linger at the water’s edge. No, sweet and generous lady, thank you for the suggestion. And of course, the wonderful compliment. |

For a moment I was transported away from this office. Thank you for that gift. I think I'll linger here.. |

There's no place on earth I'd rather be than at the water's edge! Thanks for taking me there, Pete! Beautiful poem! |
