Song of Death - Terza Rima

Bereft of love my life lies on your shore,
Enticed by waves that sing a song of grief:
"With me you'll find tranquillity and more."

Enslaved by rage, in search of Death's relief
I hear my requiem escape the tide;
Salvation at long last the sea's motif.

Embraced by salty arms I shall abide,
- While whispers in the wind prelude descent -
And sink into oblivion to hide.

To me this is a gift from Heaven sent,
- My zest for living scattered on your beach -
And silence reaches out from firmament...

But suddenly I hear a seagull screech:
"Come fly with me... come here and soar alive...
Come spread your mighty wings," her call's beseech.

"You have within the strength for your survive,
Break out this trance imposed on you by Death,
Awakened by the call of life's revive."

"You, eerie might with velvet voice of Death,
It's not your Song but life that I adore!
You can't deprive me of my final breath!"

Ah Munda, this is beautiful, and I so admire your tenaciousness...I have yet to kick any of my muses into this format, they are all objecting to getting down to business...

but you, you make it look SO easy...

Thank you very kindly Titia and it's good to be back.

Lady in white: Thank you for your kind words and I'm sure when you find your muse, we'll be in for a treat.

Hi Munda!

So glad to see you in class with your outstanding terza rima.  Munda, this looks perfect to me.  I am so impressed.  I'm still struggling with my attempt at terza rima and I can't get the iambic meter right.  I'm getting ready to simply put it in the workshop with all it's imperfections.  I would appreciate any comments that you might have.

Well, Munda - You've outdone yourself!  You have a wonderful theme.. a perfect rhyme scheme threaded throughout... and flawless iambic pentameter...

It works!.. and you rock!..
