Like scattered leaves, my words will flow Am I a poet? I don't know Oh geez I'm not supposed to rhyme Because this verse is meant to be free But will I ever be free, in verse, in life, in mind? Like scattered leaves of roses white Blown off by wind in moments time Like words in mind will disappear the moment they pop up? Will they ever flow my words of rhyme not rhyming like scattered leaves in red like moments in life But will I ever be free? Am I a poet? I don't know My words are scattered and while flowing through my mind I try to rhyme a free verse I try to live a free life I try so hard to keep a free mind I don't know All I know is that, ![]() |

Titia...Very Good. Really enjoyed reading. To capture every single idea that comes to mind on paper would be wonderful, but like leaves blowing in the wind some are meant to remain free. |

Oh that is such a neat poem, Titia... A free verse poem about not being able to write free verse... I think we become so used to rhyming which is what makes it hard to write free verse. The trick is to completely open your mind, write down your thoughts, replace the thoughts with wonderful images and then somehow turn it into a poem... That last part is the trick, its what we are here to learn... and it looks like you have a great start, Titia Lyra |

Titia, The wondering, the anticipation... "will this be a write to remember?" This is what I get from your piece which I think you have expressed most eloquently. Doc |

Loved this poem, Titia. I watch for your postings. I have such frustrations with thoughts escaping like scattered leaves and most of what I write started out to be something else entirely. Your poem let me know that I was not alone in my frustration. Thanks for sharing! Shenachie |

Titia~ You let them scatter in the wind then rake so gently the word-piles from within Piles of poetry at your beckoned call If they rhyme or they fall free matters not a whit to me It only matters that your thoughts-in-scatter are placed with ease of poet's please~ *You are soooooooo good ! ![]() We'll have a raking party in Tampa~ ![]() *Huggers* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
