Some Say ~*Marge Tindal*~ Some say it takes a Sonnet, I say a Villanelle to write the throngs of poetic songs drenching me in heart-cast spell~ This ink suits the poet well penning the thought of wishing naught Some say it takes a Sonnet, I say a Villanelle~ Words in spew of an ego-in-swell splash 'cross the page in poetic rage drenching me in heart-cast spell~ Heart spread wide in open flail dives into love with breath now held Some say it takes a Sonnet, I say a Villanelle~ In weave of thought from poet's inkwell word-bucket is filled to overflowing drenching me in heart-cast spell~ Pour of thoughts from springing well inking the very best of my best Some say it takes a Sonnet, I say a Villanelle drenching me in heart-cast spell~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

This is cool. I've never attempted a sonnet and I wasn't familiar with the villanelle format until reading here at Pips. After I move to Denver this summer and get re-established with a computer and some freetime, I'll try my hand at these forms. Or maybe sooner if winter comes back again and locks me indoors. Thanks for sharing this. |

Seymour~ Thanks love~  MidniteSun~ I wasn't aware of several of the structured-forms either ... but this workshop is either a torture chamber for discipline or a haven for hiding from my muses~ They'd never think to look for me on the merry-go-round-round-round~  I hope you join us after your move~ SmartChick~ Thanks sweetie ... now that Tax season is over .... where's yours ?  CatalinaMoon~ Thanks gal ... I don't know doodly-squat about 'em ... but I try to follow directions and it's good disciplie for me~  *It hasn't been graded yet ... but I think I'll take it to Open ! Just leave it to Marge to do the assignment - and do it well, mind you.. Then she goes and gets everybody in trouble by dragging them out to the playground before their work is done... She does it EVERY time... |
