A note to everyone for all of your help! I am pleased to announce the birth of Prairie Inkwells, a writer's group that will, [and in this I have EVERY faith] be something that will someday hit the bookstands. Don't ask me why...but I believe it will... All good things start from the ground up, and believe me, my writing friend and I are in this at the basement level...all we have to do is ride the elevator up! With your help and encouragement, and being able to introduce new people to the wonderful world of PiP, I know in my heart that this undertaking will bear fruit...and more! So...that's my news for the week. If you all don't mind, I'll be bringing in updates as we grow and establish ourselves in the world of writers... AND I will be coming to you for input! Congrats, Sunshine... With your guidance, I see no way the group can fail.. Suggestion - Why not register your group's name as a member, so we know it's you here in the workshop???..  |

Yep! Thought of doing that! And now its done. From this point forward, any poetry that we have from our members at Prairie Inkwells will be placed under that "users" name! And just so you folks know, the writers' group that we are establishing is just that, a group effort. The other lady that is spearheading this is a very capable woman that has a lot to share. Doreen, our group is in the early EARLY stages of development. Right now we are working on membership, then as it grows, I am sure we will be experiencing all that you've said, and more! In April we will have a month's worth of poetry readings to attend. We are also keeping our eyes open for state competitions to enter. Right now, we meet [for disciplinary reasons] once a week. We are fortunate in that a member has access to a community room, so we have plenty of room for members. So, keep your fingers crossed. As I have mentioned in a previous thread, we will be sharing our work here [we are working on the triolet now!] and I will also be taking back some member's poetry to share for examples on how to do things WRITE! err... RIGHT! |
