The clerihew is clearly new
A clever quip with classic hew
But yet it’s quite corruptive too
Contagiously consuming you

It all began with teacher Nan
Whose lookin good and nicely tanned
And in her Jaguar hit the road
With gypsy blood and quite a load

And then guess who jumped on the barge
But master quipper, poet Marge
Her verse of Poe is such a guise
She’s just a raven in disguise

Then Dr. Moose lets out the juice
And to a pulp he does reduce
The circus man who ran the school
That taught us how to play the fool

Now Cindy’s really got the flair
Some cleri-here some clari-there
The truth be known, I clari-swear
She’s got some Clairi in her hair
(hews, that is)

Titia boldly tried a few
Of what they call a clari-hew
But since she is so very nice
Her clari-hews came out as spice

Nan says Jeen is someone new
Writing her first clari-hew
But I freaked out on Number two
Cause Ms. Blackburn’s in my pew
She never does clean up the church
And always leaves me in the lurch

Enough of clarihews today
I think I overdid the play
I’m probably a target for
A clarihew and so much more

Liz

Every morning Elizabeth writes
Fine words to all of our delights
It's hard for me to say sarcastic stuff
Kind words for her can't be enough

Elizabeth, quite flair I see
Even much more flair than me
The subject of a clerihew?
Good Idea, I thank you!
love it!

My clarihews came out as spice?
is that a bad thing or is it nice
Sometimes with words I struggle yes
a reason more I joined Nan's class

Elizabeth you wrote them so well
I laughed out loud that I can tell
you gave me here a clearly view
of clairi hair versus clarihew

Don't know what I wrote just here
I'm all confused Elizabeth dear
But if you'll explain it to me again
I clari will clairi know clerihews than

Titia

A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess...

Nan, You're just too nice
Thanks

Cindy, I'm glad you liked the Clairol joke.
You're such a good sport with these clerihews. Your's was so cute

Titia, Your verses are laced with spice. You must have a kind heart. I was a little bit rough on Marge and the Dr. But I've been having fun with these
keep writing!

Dizzy Lizzie, if I didn't know better
I'd swear you invented Clerihew to the letter
I'd gladly quip with you anytime
Lovely Lizzie of slick-quick rhyme~
