Sing your songs and drink your wine, brave man! You still dream that everything’s for the best. On the roof, you reach for the star with your hand, And it beats in your palm like a heart in one’s chest. What can you do with the bird who has grown to be free? You observe her through fingers but her light is too fair. And the star beckons you, “Come fly with me!” You step forward and fall while she hangs in the air. But some day, you’ll be able to rise by her side. As though one of the stars, you will burn with a blaze Someone’s hand will extend up towards your light And once you expire, he will shine in your place! |

master: exquisite... i like very much... you're poems are continually excellent... keep it up... sincerely, jerome the boy with no soul A savage place! as holy and enchanted As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted By woman wailing for her demon-lover! ~Coleridge |
