His name, The refusal of speaking his name Lead me to where i am today If fills me with unspeakable shame And now i experience my heart's delay It yields to be opened to him And stumbles when trying to get there Light from the skies starts to dim This story imprinted, i feel i must share I speak of the truth when i say That i was placed in a standstill Motionless from fear everyday I drag my feet up this hill His voice, Never hearing his voice through the hours Detached myself from the rest of life I'm gaining speed, but i'm losing power I've never been put through this much strife Serene pictures flash through my mind Each time that his name is said And this gutless disposition, it's divine The outer skin on me, i'd like to shed Distinction from the rest of the crowd With an attitude that shows self-possession I'd like to speak of this aloud And let them feel the sensation His eyes, Never looking into his eyes for More than what was capable I plead, for there has to be more That can keep me stable In an instant it all disappears Delusion replaces what was there I've held back so many of my tears Now each one is released with such care What inches me on, is the feeling of dismay It searches for a solution, not someone to blame In hopes that maybe today will be the day In which i am able to speak his name "It's my heart that pounds beneath my flesh it's my mouth that pushes out this breath..."-FTE |
