A lonely figure in the dark
with just the street lamp above him
and the fallen leaves swirling in
the numbing wind

The sun has told him many things
and the clouds have given him many gifts
the wind has carressed him in the day
but for now he is alone.

He takes off his ring from his 4th finger
and places it beside his feet
he has no one to talk to
except his fears and his tears.

But he would explode if her kept it
in a bleeding heart, scared and torn
amd tears alone could not drain away the pain
so black formed on white.

And when the sun rose the next morn
under a street lamp amidst the swirling leaves
the gifts of the clouds and words of the sun
were held only by ink on paper, smudged by tears
and a gold ring.

Wow, very well done. This is a very powerful piece. It just oozes feelings of despair and loss. I love it.
