This is a poem i wrote after breaking up with my b/f... A Single Rose The last rose he gave me stands alone in its vase. I stare at his picture with an empty face. The shadows in my heart can not be turned away So I will suffer with them until my dying day. I see his shadow everywhere, but him i do not see. So i just sit staring at the last rose given to me. What I feel in my heart hardly anyone knows for all my feelings are trapped... within a single rose. well? What did ya'll think? "Superiority to fate is difficult to learn. 'Tis not conferred by any, but possible to earn"--Emily Dickinson-"Superiority of Fate" |

I understood where your poem was coming from. I really liked it. I felt the same way when my boyfriend broke up with me some time ago. I think right now he feels that way about me... Anyhoo, keep up the good work! |

I really liked this poem. It put into words what everyone feels at the close of a relationship. Great job! ~Sarah |

Very beautiful and heartfelt, I love it. I am not a poet, I am merely one who speaks in emotion |
