In an upside-down garden

You hesitate,
as you hold my hand.
My toes,
they dig deep into the sand.
I knew this was coming,
I knew you would go.
I knew all of this,
but, did you know?
You have to go one way.
You must follow your heart.
Even if this means,
we must be apart.
I can't say I love you,
that would be a lie.
I can't say anything,
that wouldn't be a lie.
Goodbye.
