"Best Buds" is what we promised.
Thought we'd stay close till the end.
You knew everything about me.
The hidden looks and laughs we'd send.

Secrets kept between us.
Things that we'd just understand.
Hard times always weathered.
When I was down, you'd hold my hand.

Everyone knew we were inseparable.
Where there was one...another was near.
Whenever we were together,
There was nothing left to fear.

Now miles do separate us.
Do I even cross your mind?
It's a mystery how I ever let you go.
You were one of a kind.

We used to do everything together.
Yet somehow we've lost touch.
Funny thing is, when we were drifting away
I did not realize I cared so much.

And although I know we've grown apart,
Is it too late for a fresh start?
But know either way,
You forever hold a special place in my heart.

*This is a poem that I wrote for one of my closest friends.  We live over an hour away from one another and when I switched schools we drifted apart.  Both of us had to make new friends, but I know that no matter what nobody can ever take away the time that we spent together or the memories that we made.  I luv ya buddy.

Thats an excellant attitude...Cause in the end, friends are the only thing that really matters....

Welcome to passions!!!!!

I have move about 3 times and the distances have been far greater (Not to belittle your situation) , so letting go is something i can do...to some extent, but you never forget the best of them, great poem, hope everything works out.

I can relate to your poem. Growing apart from someone is almost worse then just being yanked away. Welcome to passions.

Welcome to Passions! True friendship can never really die, although it may seem to. I'll be looking for more of your work around here soon!

This is really great... something I'm scared of, with graduation coming up. Wonderful writing.

Hi, guitar_girl! Welcome to Passions! I think your poem is very sweet and well written. I am sorry for your situation, I can relate to it.

This is something that I found very wise and I just wanted to share it with you:

INTO YOUR LIFE

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is
usually to meet a need
you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They
have come to assist you
through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance
and support, to aid
you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They
may seem like a godsend,
and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrong-doing, on your part, or at some
inconvenient time, this person
will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met,
our desire fulfilled; their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it
is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They may bring you an experience of
peace or make you laugh. They may teach you
something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it!
It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must
build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (any way);
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of
your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Sorry for making this reply so long! Well, looking forward to seeing more of your work around here!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie
