Daddy, Pease Pick Me Up

I lay there, my face in the dirt,
Struggling to get up,
But,oh,I’m so hurt.

I’ve been trying to get up,
But I keep getting pushed back down.
I get some hope and try again,
But I keep coming face to face with the ground.

Finally, I look up to my Father,
Daddy, Daddy, I’ve fallen again,
I’ve tried so hard to get up,
But I just can’t win.

I can’t fight anymore,
I just want to give up.
I’m just so tired,
Daddy, please pick me up.

Oh, my child, come here my precious one.
You don’t know how long I’ve waited for those words.
If I could have earlier,
That’s exactly what I would have done.

But, Daddy, you’re so big,
And I’m so small.
You didn’t help me,
I had to do it all.

Oh, my child, I knew they would break your heart.
I knew that your world would fall apart.
I knew that you and your family would fight.
And I know that you cry a lot at night.

So many times I’ve had to close my eyes.
I’m still with you,
But I can’t watch you fall for Satan’s lies.

I’ve wanted to pick you up,
But I’ve given you your own choice.
I call to you,
But you choose to listen to the wrong voice.

But, finally, you have called on me.
Now I can hold you in my arms.
And if you will trust me,
I will keep you safe from harm.

Michele, this is beautifully written and a true inspiration.
Hope it gets a lot of responses.

Michelle,
that was a truly amazing piece of poetry. It totally describes what every child goes through with their father. Keep up the good writing

This is wonderfully written and I am very happy for you to have "found" your father again.

Love and hugs,
