A Dampened Light You called me tonight Not knowing where to start To tell me goodbye. It left a hole in my heart. "We can still be friends..." I started to cry. But held my tears back, This wasn't the end. You said you still cared, It would be alright. But how will I get through All those lonely nights? The way that you held me In your arms so tight. The way that you kissed me So tenderly last night. How could this be true? It felt so right. Now I'm dark inside, When I was once so bright. I can't live without the way Things used to be. I guess I'll have to, So unwillingly. Every love song I hear Reminds me of you. Not holding you every day Will kill me whatever I do. I must go on With my broken life. With a great friendship, A dampened Light. |

I thought this was an excellent poem. It's beautiful. I believe everything that happens, happens for a reason and is part of a bigger plan, even if we don't understand, or want to understand the reason. Hang in there and keep up the good work |

Isn't it odd how a love can make you sad But one thing is for certain That in life it is our destiny To discover the joys and heartache Of having our heartstrings tugged at times. Karen, your writing is sweet! CocoBaci |
