Fire and Ice: Frost's poem: Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favour fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice. My response: Both ice and fire for destruction, A man can tame! Two opposites meet in attraction As a result of this reaction The ice would melt and douse the flame! But if one day it does expire The world will cease because of love Since neither ice nor blazing fire Can mar enough To damage more than heart’s desire! |

How can man tame fire and ice? If the world plunges into the depths of hell or a storm of lightening strikes and causes all of the world to burn in one giant flame,no man can tame that. And if the world turns dark and cold, because no sun dares to shine, no man can tame that for man is a mere mortal and nothing more.
