the shield has been lifted my eyes are startled by the light everything i knew and possessed has now escaped my sight my heart has stopped beating my breathing has ceased my life is crumbling around me without you there is no peace the summer has turned to autumn light has turned to dark without your hand within mine the bleakness is more stark why was my vision limited to within the boundaries near? why couldn't i focus on what lay beyond? unconsciously was it my fear? to hold you in my arms sent a rivet up my spine to kiss you so tenderly the reassurance you were mine but now without you i am lost now gone what i had cherished an emptiness within my heart my love though far from perished controlling you? overshadowing your life? my mind not once considered this apoligies may not make amends but what i need is your forgiveness please don't turn your back i surrender my heart to you my love is much more than eternal for this love is clearly true "tears are the essence of our souls" |
