Ah, I remember, a long long time ago… When my child muse was still by my side Singing her sweet, ethereal song Dancing her light-footed dance across the Chuckling brook of thoughts And strains of laughter echoed in the chambers of my soul. Ah, I recall, she used to whisper in my ear Such absurd ideas, and bubble dreams That made me smile within and without. Now, oh the woes, of now The black arrow of time has pierced her And she lies fitfully sleeping in the overgrown garden Lines of sorrow have creased her once youthful crown Waiting for the kiss, perhaps, of a muse prince But for now, she will remain in her slumber In the mystical realms of the poet's imagination (c)Tina TT October 1999 ------------------ ~What if you slept? What if, in your sleep, you dreamed? And in your dream, you went to heaven and there plucked a strange and beautiful flower? And what if, when you awoke, you had that flower in your hand? Aye, what then?~ |
