I'm sorry that I hurt you
I'm sorry that it had to be this way
I'm sorry for the wrong I've done
and for the way I've been.

I knew from the beginning that it
wouldn't last
I kept telling myself just one more day
and maybe it could last.

I know you meant every word you said
and I know you still care but I'm sorry
This is the way it has to be.

I'm sorry that I hurt you
I'm sorry that it had to be this way
I'm sorry for the wrong of I've
and for the way I've been.
