Your proposal is tempting and appears so sweet Is this the fruit I've longed to eat? We've both seen things that were disappointing, We've both known that familiar ache We want that special someone to have so we won't play the game. I'm still looking and you've gone through many Can anything quench the fire that's within? You say I'm different and maybe you are too But how can I know from all the lies you've said. I know the truth, I'm not child I've been through some things, never calm or mild All I ask is for trust, loyalty and respect I learned some things about you and began to suspect Why go through the trouble of lies? They only cause harsh goodbyes I don't need all your time, I don't want gifts I just want you, the man, not the little boy or myth Games with the mind are not to played Pride should not get in the way Can you be mature and commit to what you say? Or should I leave you in the playpen to stay? Your proposal is tempting and appears so sweet But is this really the fruit I deserve to eat? |
