Shakespeare said “All the world’s a stage”
How true that statement is
For we are all actors on a stage
Each with our specific part
A part that can not be re-written
A part that never changes

I am an actress

When I step out my door
I fell as if I’m in costume
And as I go into the world
I get myself in character
I go over my false lines
As I walk onto the stage

I am an actress

I see another actor
Across the lighted stage
But it isn’t in my character
To approach him
To speak to him
It just isn’t in the script

Oh, what I would do
To re-write that script of life
To change my character
To change my lines
But, I am not the director

I am just the actress

oh, I just love that. How true it is. I always try to act out of character though. See, it really isn't like me at all to flirt with girls, but as of late I'm doing it a lot. So, change can come if you are willing to make it happen. Anywho, how true that poem is, we are all just actors/actresses playing our part and hiding our feelings. How true it do be.

this is really good! i love how you propsed the world and life as a giant pantomime. sometimes you need to become the director in order to have lived

This is indeed very true. I agree, you do need to become the director in order to have truly lived. For if you just let the false words and bright lights sweep you through the production, you really gave no part of yourself in its making. Great job!

Yes, you are an actress. To be a good one you must give your best performance, and that's an expression of you, not the Director. Invent you life to be what you want it to be, and then show up to get you Acadamy award.
Nice piece you have written. It's original and thought provoking.
