A battle rages forth within my soul Endlessly vicious and taking its toll It is I alone against my demons Attempting in vain to banish the heathens They know my every strength and weakness I strike clumsily and they evade with finesse I run away and hide from their wrath No matter how I try, they always find my path A battle rages forth within my soul I am losing, my happiness they stole Stealing deep within my defenses Scaling my strongest and highest fences Taking what they will from my life I cannot stop them, their numbers are rife I attempt to fight back, but am ineffective It is as if all my weapons are defective A battle rages forth within my soul Leaving me empty, no longer whole With nothing, the demons have left me I fall to my knees and offer my plea I have lost the battle but not the war Again shall we meet, and fight some more My soul in the balance, I must succeed And to do that, I must continue to bleed |

This was a good poem. I can relate to fighting personal demons, and I hope that you can beat yours. Anyway, you know who to turn to if you need a friend. "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world" |
