You've made me feel so gullible With all your little lies You've hurt me more than you can know You've made me despise I thought that I could trust you When all along you knew So many things you said were lies You were so untrue I have been humiliated I said, "He'd never lie to me!" My best friends tried to tell me But I just wouldn't see I got mad at them And pushed them away I defended you Still you lied anyway I thought what we had Was honest and true I tried to be perfect I never once lied to you "He's honest with me, So I'll do the same for him." I lived by that rule By that stupid little whim Now I'm mad at myself For giving you my heart All you ever did Was tear it apart |

Unfortunately, the trust we extend to some people is not deserved. Sometimes you have to have a balance between trusting in the honesty of others and protecting your hourself from those that would decieve. Your poem is well written. I like the rhyme you used. Maybe the best lesson coming from your poem is that, with love, there are no rules. Nice work. |

I'd sure like to see more people respond to this poem. There is a message here that would be good for many out there to read who have been deceived and lied to when it comes to love. So, i'm sending this one back to the top. |
