it flittered from the pine to it's new perch, one of the earth's prosthetic limbs, a shaft of steel and light and it stood like a monarch elegantly head held high silhoutted against azure fields filled with fluffy white flowers seemingly looking over it's territory -keeping an eye on it's little fench friends who hopped about playfully avoiding oblivious feet and speeding cars- then came the enemy riding on midnight wings. and the call was sounded and the pilots ready pitting theirselves in a minaiture dogfight little grey birds outnumbering their large black enemy, a dart- a peck- deathdefying tumbles and rolls, negative g's, inverted arcs, an ageless battle for the skies the little ones unrelenting in their attack until they reclaimed those azure fields. and that one -i believe it was that one- gracefully returned to it's perch as if nothing had happened. |

rich-pa: i like this one a lot... especially the ending... you ever see the movie version of The Hobbitt?... the fight scene reminds me of the "battle of the 5 armies" when the hawks came and helped out against the goblins... very cool... anyway *heh*... check you later... sincerely, jerome the mysterious priest And their bleating was like a wet salmon slapped upon the land---slap! slap! slap! |

Very good! You pulled me right in for the whole wild ride and then left me on the perch and I now sit in peace. |
