I come from supply
all shiny and new
I'm put on some paper
and passed on to you-

You place me aside
'till the next little trip-
I travel unheeded
while keeping my grip-

Suddenly I'm noticed
when my supply is low-
Somebody needs me
but where did I go?

The mystery remains-
I've sealed my lips-
'Cause there's really a heaven
for us paper clips.

I loved the poem Echo, but did you know.......

In 1958, Lloyd's Bank of London followed the life time of 100,000 and found that:
Out of 100,000 paper clips only 20,000 ended up holding papers together. 14,163 were twisted and bent during phone conversations; 19,143 were used for chips in card games; 7,200 were pressed together into service as "makeshift hooks an women's undergarments"; 5,434 were used for tooth picks or ear scratchers; 5,308 were used for nail cleaners; 3,916 were used as pipe cleaners; and the rest, almost 25,000, were simply dropped on the floor and swept away.

How sad it would be, to be a paper clip!

SD....I know there's a heaven for them but look what they have to go through. Would you like to be used as a "tooth pick" or "ear scatcher"?

Sally...Only a gigle?? LoL, j/k Thanks for reading and commenting!

Denise...Glad you liked!!

Lynn...No, I did not know all of that, but still...and yes, I would like to be a paper clip even if I was a toothpick or an ear scratcher, I wouldnt know if it was good or bad, paper clips dont now these things..OR DO THEY??? LoL But think about it another way...aren't we all used in ways we werent intended as well, but if we focus on God and live for Him, we go to Heaven...My finger has been used as an ear scratcher, my nails as a toothpick as well...anyways, enough of that, there is a heaven for paper clips and that is that!!! LoL

Amy...Thank you!

Munda...Is it your turn to dig up some old poems now LoL And you are quite welcome for the smile!

Rebecca...Actually, I was at work, and went to get a paperclip and couldnt find any, cause I had used them all, and it was right before my break, so I went outside to smoke and while I was I wrote a poem about paper clips, it is just what came to mind. Glad you liked it!
