The Shadow of Me

A shadow I am
of me there is no substance
therefore I cannot exist
but yet I am....
only to be seen
and never touched
for I am one step ahead of you
and when you enter
I remain on the doorstep
but I will not wait
and if you search
I'll not be found
for I am just a shadow
of me there is no substance.

PS: one of the "poets" in another forum (deja.com) sent me a friendly little virus that made me lose everything. posting will be hit and miss till I get it all unraveled.
