I came to you
in lonesome's
grip
looking for
release.
You slayed that beast
that held
my heart
and against my will
I loved you.

You gentled me
when I rebeled
with broken wings
you held me.
So patiently
you made me see
not everyone
sees the ugly.

Finally
defenses fell
and I returned
your words.
You released me
from bonds of
misery
And when I held on
to you....
You let me go.

Saxoness, I'm not sure if I read this one before, but it was beautiful. I loved the last couple lines

Thanks everyone! This is one of those pieces you write in passing then forget about, only to find later and wonder why you didn't pay more attention to it.
