‘Deer Huntin'

I've set my sights that's fore shore
I've never stalked a man like this afore!
Now that I live here at the ‘stute too
ol' Balladeer'll never have a clue

I'll watch him and plan and scheme
getting a man, that's my theme!
Toerag is fine I must say
and really I'd take him any ol' day

but Balladeer is my first conquest
soon he'll dance and rhyme at my behest
oh to have a lover-poet
such ecstasy! I've never known it!

I'm goin' a'huntin, ‘Deer huntin' for shore
I ain't stayin' single for one day more!
Shakespeare ain't writ a better line
than this I use on my ‘Deer deVine

no-one tell of him of my plight
for I mean to snare him afore the night
he'll fuss and fume that's a certain
but he'll soon hush, once I draw the curtain!

He'll be victim to my own device
I'll not let him go at any price
"oh Balladeer come now for destiny's a-callin
if you're with me no harm will be-fallen"

grab a pen and ink and pad
for a poem from him, will be had!
this chamber, there's no escaping from
‘til I get the words for which I've come

I'll make him scratch and scratch with dry pen
the words to a rhyme without end
for if rhyming I could get near
there'd be no use for Balladeer

Oh.. Shhhh, now hush up
Justin Thyme
Hot Auntie's stalking
Our Deer's rhyme

You've made a fuss
You're such a bother
Look what you've done
Stirred such a pother

She says she'll take
Toerag instead
But he's all purple
Toe to Head!

She only wants
To have her fun
But lookout!! Now
Deer's on the run!!

Well, hey, Justin Conceivable,
Your plan is unbelieveable.
You won't get me this huntin' season
'Cause I don't rhyme without a reason.

So use your femininity
And see how well it works on me.
Hold me tightly in your arms,
Tempt me with romantic charms...

Whisper sweet things in my ear,
Geared to bag a running deer.
These things don't sound a bit displeasin'
But I don't rhyme without a reason.

I know you people in the 'stute.
Don't count on me to substitute
'Cause that's one place I'll never go
Unless you got a lot of doe.

So promise me the world and more,
Describe sweet passions to explore
But, just remember, while you're teasin'
I just don't rhyme without a reason.

Me thinks her choice of target a little bit poor
If Deer be the one buck she be huntin' for
See that's one rhymin' Deer that does fight back
And it ain't a pair of antlers he has in his pack
A high powered round is his choice of ammo
And he's hard to see all dressed in his camo
You'll not have time to duck the shot of this Deer
As his piercing rhymes hit you right through the ear
So best you go choose yourself a less deadly target
And of that bad ass buck you quickly forget
No, I think it is better something else you bag
Like that fruit-lovin' melon pushin' Toerag

Now what is this I hear?
Your hunting our 'Deer!

Be sure and be swift.
Be nimble of foot.
When your caught in the drift,
and all covered with soot.

Remember our waring,
not truely unkind.
Soon comes the morning
and your left behind.

He's graceful and clever.
In a trap never snared.
Quick witted as ever
and rarely scared.

Our 'Deer is a catch
of that be assured.
To pick his match
would be quite obscured.

To you, I say happy hunting.
Let the game now commence.
You'll go back with nothing
except, maybe, common sense.
