THE SEARCH

Oh, Love, where dost thy spirit dwell?
In the misty roar of a sea shell?
In a shadowed forest's docile trees?
In lonely hearts ridden with disease?

Within a golden grail or braided strand
Of knowledge I can't understand?
Oh, Love, dost thou lie in my heart,
Seeking to tear my world apart?

For I've searched the oceans far and wide,
To every corner I, myself, might hide.
I've searched the desert's burning sands,
I've searched the lines of my own hands.

I've searched islands, I've searched mountains,
Buried streams and blissful fountains.
I've searched the stars of the summer sky,
The tears of a subconscious cry.

I've searched with vigor, passion, desire,
My heart with wings, my soul on fire.
I've searched Pride and Humility,
All you possibly could mean to me.

Oh, Love, I 've wandered on this quest,
Searched, most assuredly, in jest.
Till, alas, with nowhere left to roam,
I found you waiting for me to come home.

**Thank you, Genny, for finding me when I had already given up on the search. Thank you for allowing me to be the me that I am and not a me one might hope me to be. Thank you for showing me love in every aspect of the word, and for the realization love isn't something to be quested, love just is. As you have been there for me, so will I be here for you, in all love.**

I don't know which is nicer... the poem or the words that follow... both are beautiful!

Michael, every time I think I've read the most beautiful poem of yours yet...you astound me with another.....(sigh) This is by far the most beaufitul piece of tribute yet that you've shared.....maybe it's because of what you said underneath the poem....I don't know.....I swear, if you treat me half as good after we're together as you do now, we'll never be torn apart. I do fall more in love with you every day....

well writen Michael, I think the best line is:

"I've searched the lines of my own hands."

It says so much.

Simply lovely. You did some soul-searching on this one ... and I'm glad you found what you were looking for.

I just wanted to bring this back because it means so much to me.....Maybe because of what you wrote at the bottom. You are so far away tonight - I needed to "hear" you speak to me with reassurance, thus I found this poem. Please know that I love you - we have many many wonderfully warm days ahead of us, Michael...I love you.

Alright you two, now you're gonna make me cry if you don't stop this!
Great soul searching stuff Michael! Isn't that how it goes, sometimes we search far and wide and the whole time it is right under our noses!

I do so wish the very best for you two! God Bless ya both!
