I Love you......(comments please)

This was originally written when I had a Love to share. Some words have slightly changed to show different times.

A week in our lives
I will always cherrish.

The cold wind howled outside.
A white powder filled the air.
Temperatures well below freezing.

Snuggled in bed
finding each others warmest parts.
Hiding under the blankets
away from work and play.
Just knowing you were close to me
made me feel so wonderful.
Making due with what we had
in front of the warm fireplace.
You laying against me
and I against you;
and I knew that you appreciated
and loved me with all your heart.

These few days play over
in my waking thoughts
and my sleeping dreams.

I Loved you.

My wife and I are divorcing....all I can do is hold this one "perfect" week we had in my memories. She is special but my heart cannot take the pain from her.

Nice but I don't quite understand, have you split with her, or just back at work?
If you are just back at work you could have ended it with something like , 'I know those few days will be a carbon copy of the future waiting for me and you.' That's a crappy line, but something loving for the future you know? You wanted a comment, well you got one..

I think this is a beautiful poem, splitting up can be so hard when there are feeling as deep as these involved. No, one can not take away anothers pain, try as we might, we can only at best hope to share the burdens and make the pain a bit milder. I wish you well
