Insomnia Another restless night. Thoughts of you Keep me tossing and turning Until the dawn. My bed Not the haven It once was, No longer serving As my escape; Now just a blatant reminder Of what is missing. I roam my apartment: A ghost In search of a lost soul. Will I find What my heart seeks? My home seems so cold, Empty Without you here. Every sound of the night Has me jumping through my skin. I settle on the couch. Unable to return to my vacant bed. I watch the clock Ticking the hours away. How much longer Before the light of day Beckons me rise Through my windows? I long for the dawn To erase my lonely night And end my sleepless hell. ********* Thanks for the help with this, Ruth. ------------------ It matters not how strait the gate; How charged with punishments the scroll; I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. --W.E. Tara, this is a wonderful piece and one I'm sure most of us can relate to. You've expressed the feeling of hopelessness that comes with insomnia quite well. Nice posting by the way, no need for thanks, you did all the work Hugs Ruth |

Nicely done, Tara - I'd say that just about anybody should be able to relate to this one - I know I can... |

Sleepless, Lonely, Tormented night....an awful way to spend the dark hours of the day. Wonderfully worded and as you can see, relevant to so many! ------------------ Julie Jordan Scott is a Freelance Writer and Public Speaker, but her favorite role is that of Mommy! This one really hits home. Currently I am feeling the loss of a loved one,.... whether it be day or night I want to sleep, I find that sleep does not want me. Thank you for sharing yourself. ------------------ Deverone |

Thank you Deverone. You understand perfectly! Moonmoon, would you please? I know I'd sleep much better if he were here. *sigh* Thanks for all the comments. ------------------ It matters not how strait the gate; How charged with punishments the scroll; I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. --W.E.
