About to Give Up--But Not Yet!

She called herself by some pretentious name,
Expecting to impress me,
To me, she really looked the same
She only managed to depress me.

Her silly little Head-games,
For which she was not well-equipped,
Makes her actions all quite lame
Yes, from her Pedestal she has slipped!

If she really wants to win me,
I wish she'd start being Herself,
For all this phoniness, through, I can see--
And it really doesn't help.

But she's a Diamond in the rough,
I'm sure she's a Heart of Gold,
If I can only expose it enough--
I'll have uncovered her Wealth, yet untold!

So while I could, I've not yet retreated,
For a Miracle could here well take place,
Her Transformation would be well greeted--
By a genuine Smile on my face!
