O how long I have awaited thy coming For years now you've been on the verge, At times you seemed so unlikely-- But now, at last, you're my fervent urge. How undependable you seem to be Rarely showing up when expected, But for some, slipping in ahead of time-- With surprise, having been undetected. Why must you be e'er so cavalier To show up only as You please? Doesn't it get old, Cold Shoulder Receptions? Or is that something, that with you, agrees? So I say, you can come already And together we will stroll out the door, To Hell with this world, I've a Date with Death-- And for me, it will last evermore! |
