A SILENT GOODBYE

I cant put myself in your shoes,
But I can understand your fear.
Babe, there's so much we stand to lose,
I beg you, please don't "disappear".

I need your touch, it's been so long,
But how can I tell you I care;
When every night I sing my song
To someone who's not there.

Your voice, alone, could carry me
Beyond eternity.
Is there anyway to make you see
This silence is killing me.

You are my laughter, you are my smile,
You are my need, my soul.
Without you nothing seems worthwhile,
I'm broken and unwhole.

If you are gone, just know this much,
Through all the tears I may cry;
My life I found within your touch,
I wish we could have shared goodbye.

Michael: Silences sometimes speak with deafening fervor. Your poem carries all the sadness of goodbye with a recognition the joy was worth the pain... Well done!

gosh Michael that is beautiful, just sitting here crying with that last line, this internet is so wonderful when you find someone even if they are miles away to connect to, but it can be so cruel when across the miles you can't reach out and show your love....big hugs for you and for her

You made me weep!!! With all that is going on in my life at this moment, you spoke like my Michael speaks to me. Are you sure your not him? That was so beautiful!! Wow.

Sweetheart I hope this is a case of silence making minutes sound like hours...so many reasons for silence, servers down, access unavailable, deep in thought...so many reasons...

I keep you both in my thoughts

This was sad also! I hope you two never say good-bye to each other! This was really well written! I know not what the silence is, but I hope it breaks pretty soon! ((HUGS))

Michael, I am sitting here in tears right now, my heart feeling your pain through your words. I truly hope she comes back to you, you deserve to love and be loved.

And I missed this one how???
Michael, this one almost made me cry! (I don't cry, I said almost!)
Well done and I agree with above regarding its poignancy!

OK, somebody clue me in...WHAT HAPPENED!?!

You guys were like love incarnate...I refuse to believe that it was gone in a puff of smoke! Alright so it is really none of my business but this poem made me all misty. Keep this up Michael and I'll be buying new contacts every week!

Good luck...I hope it works out for the best for both of you. I'm with miriam...call her, write her, drag her out of her house kicking and screaming and tie her to your bed (you oughta run that one by her, I'll bet she likes it!)

Love is too PRECIOUS to give up!

O.K. , I guess I really owe everyone an explanation. Femme is in the process of moving from Tennessee to Arkansas. I haven't heard from her in a week. I miss her terribly, but all is o.k. with us. Still, at this point I am very worried for her well being. I have no way of getting in touch with her at this point. As soon as she has a phone and gets back on-line I'm sure my poetry won't be so gloomy.
Till then, I would ask everyone to keep her in your prayers. I thank each and all of you for you concern.

Your exceptional qualities extend outside your poetry as you are a caring person. I believe she has a lot to look forward towards as you have written some great pieces while she was gone.

Michael,
Very sad and moving. I think your emotions match mine if this were to happen at this particular moment to me. My thoughts are with you.

I think my ink cartridges are about to poop out! Man you wrote some good stuff !!! I bet you had everyone in here sobbing, thinking I was like "gone" for good! hehe

Keep up the wonderful poems.
