Secret longings that my soul hides within itself
I’ve forgotten how to rhyme
My words that flowed in verse
So connected
So timed
The words now tumble and spill too quickly for me to phrase
I am so caught up in the moments
Of trying to get out all
That was once locked so deeply inside
No way to escape
The sentences didn’t show form
But now they escape
In this jumble of emotion
And some ask where did the music go
And others tell me they now hear it
For the first time
Locked out of sequence
Spilling from the soul
Tender
Raw
Powerful and shocked full of emotion
Me
In words
Spilling across the pages
For all
Or none
But mostly
For me.

Ahh, I truly understand this. I've found freeverse...sometimes thats the only way to truly 'hear the music' as you so perfectly state. Definitely write for you, azblond. That's when the masterpieces are created...

There's no better person to write for than yourself but I'm glad you didn't keep this to yourself. Nicely written!
