Heart of the Sea You are the heart of the sea. The horizon reflects the sensation of your beauty. Curiosity has taken men in your direction, but all fear your depth... and the darkness that lies beyond. Is your heart as dark as your waves, as menacing and cruel? Everyone has an adventure in you; if only they can brave your tides. You both destroy and reproduce. What lies beyond your barren reefs? Can my words bridge the sound of your waves? Just like life, everything is volatile when it comes to you; but I do not fear you. My heart lies as deep and dark as your own. I am what has never been and what may never be. Forces of nature beckon to my call. You are in me as well as I am in you. You are the heart of the sea; I am the ocean deep; Together we will become one. ------------------ Man can not discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. |

Beautiful, Ruth. Hmmm, what's with the sudden obsession with water? Could it be a certain sailor? "Everyone has an adventure in you; if only they can brave your tides"--I love this line! ------------------ It matters not how strait the gate; How charged with punishments the scroll; I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. --W.E. Seems that love agrees with your verse as well as with you, Ruth. ------------------ Now and forever my heart hears ~one voice~. DreamEvil© |

Beautiful, Hoot. You seem to be 'floating' along here...hmm....could it be on the 'love boat'? |

Excellent, Ruth. I love watching you grow as a poet. Your words, phrases, and lines all becoming more sophisticated and precise, nearing perfection. We are all blessed to be able to watch one of the more serious poets at this site grow exponentially. Your heart has stayed the same, but your clarity is becoming remarkable. Did I leave anything out? |

Wow everyone, I am truly blushing at this overwhelming possitive response to this one. Thanks Tyson...now how much do I owe you for that?? Remind me if I ever get my book published to have you critique it. ------------------ Man can not discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. |
