Must I say it?

You read my poetry
Knowing it’s for you.
Asking when I will answer my own question
And tell you how I feel.

You know how hard this is for me,
Yet you still ask.
Why?

Couldn’t you feel it in my caress,
My hands gliding over your body,
Massaging every part of you.
The tender touch of love.

Didn’t you see it in my eyes
The day you made love to me on that rock?
The words, pursed on the edge of my lips
So close to being voiced,
Yet sitting unspoken.

Don’t you read these words every day?
Telling you how I feel,
What I fear.
Others can see what you inspire,
Can you?

As hard as it is for me to say,
I know that I will.
There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do
To show you my heart.
Even if I have to say the words
I love you.

Quite the trap they are Tara, those three words, I must agree.

Very nicely written Tara, if he can't see it, he's blind

Tara, this is great! Sometimes showing it and saying it are equally hard to do! Once it's out of your mouth, you can't take it back.....

Dream, Denise, Ruth, and PDV: Nobody ever said love was easy, did they? Thank you for your comments.

On the contrary, Balladeer, love on the rocks is easier than one might think!
