Ode to Soaring While we shackle soles to this sorry sod, our spirits should clamor to soar in space, with freedom designed by a loving God, mortal and Immortal assent in embrace. Ethereal harmonics will herald the roll, receptive adherents given charge, "Keep melodious resonance, regaling the soul, the prelusive glissade to passion's grand leap!" Mid-morning breezes, warmed by the sun, uplift all that flies, to drift on high toward altocumulus palisades, soft spun to engulf the mind and delight the eye in soaring thermal perspective; to know, embracing love's high-flying point of view, less urgent the things obscured below for here my thoughts want only, you. --H. This is one of those poems of yours that loses me in the language...but I love the message! ------------------ "We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.....the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?" --John Keating, Dead Poets Society [This message has been edited by Beki (edited 10-03-1999).] |
