Mother

Your voices:
the ones who said
'the devil's coming, run'
those mind breakers
who told you to leave
your frightened child
alone in coldest night
and forced your walk
to save the world
are losing now
controlling you yes -
but clutching my fears
ever less

Once
to lisp words
from my brokeness
to mold the form
of your absence
only called my
nine year old lost self
to my front line
wretched, no barriers
to hide the wounds
a lonely little soldier
small against her enemy

but

now the tears
never come
a river dried
forgotten flow

my Mother
I fear
I am forgetting
how to love you
now

Where can I find you?

This demon-drenched disease
it's robbed you of yourself
yet I need you still -
a nine year old
who ever tries to cry
her futile gun
clogged with unshed grief

Oh my Mother
come heal these wounds
give me permanent scars
of maternal love
please make my wasteland
live
I need the closure
of schizophrenia's death

K- this one calls out for some in-depth evaluation... but I have to do that later...haven't decided whether or not to bore anyone else here with my analysis, so I think I'll email it...
Well written and expressed of course, I expect from you no less however!

Another heartfelt, beautifully written piece, as always.
